PAIR OF EROTIC WATERCOLOR PRINTS

“The Indiscreet Wife” and “The Faulty Sentinel”

after Pierre Antoine BAUDOUIN (1723-1769)

and engraved by de LAUNAY in 1771

These prints are two famous erotic works from the end of Baudouin's career.

These are not original engravings, but prints made at the very beginning of the 1900s on strong cardboard. The background is slightly striped beige, like kraft paper, highlighting these delicate, discreetly watercolored engravings.

The views representing the original gouaches measure approximately 34 cm by 26 cm

The funds, with the titles, measure approximately 40.5 by 31 cm.

Finally, the gilded carved wooden frames measure approximately 47.5 cm by 37.5 cm.

These two frames were dismantled, scrupulously cleaned and reassembled very clean.

It was during disassembly that we were able to observe the date "1914" engraved in the borders of the two frames.

Note only a wetness in the upper right corner of the "faulty sentry" without affecting the painting itself.
