I am selling an outstanding Antique, Very LARGE, Metal Document Box, with the Original Owners Name Stenciled on the front. E H PRINGLE is Stenciled in White Lettering. See photo. The Box is the usual document box black, with only slight remnants of the gold and white trim Detail. The Box has its Original Brass Locking Escushion, but the key is long gone. The Original brass Handle, on the Lid. The  Box comes with PROVENANCE, of the Original  Owners History. It will come to you with this documentation, included. See photos. The Box belonged to Ernest Henry Pringle. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina, July 16, 1881. He and his brothers owned a wholesale Dry Goods business, in Charleston, from 1901 to 1906. The Box was purchased during for this time, and used thereafter, in most of his business ventures. He worked as a General Accountant from 1906-1907. Was employed by the Bank of Charleston 1907-1922. Chairman of the Bank Board, 1923-1925. He was Chairman of the Board for Charleston Security Co., and Charleston Trust Co. He also worked with Merchants Fertilizer & Phosphate Co. 1917-1919. During this time frame, he was Vice President and Treasurer of Midland Timber Co., and Chairman of Liberty and Victory Loans, of Charleston County, 1927-1919. Definitely a long history, in the Charleston business world. And this Box was with him throughout. The Box is in good, clean Antique condition, with expected age wear and patina. The Lettering is strong and secure. It measures a VERY  LARGE,  approximately 18"× 13"×9". The Box is substantially heavy. Please view the photos, for the condition.
