This listing is for a vintage Bakelite handled carving knife.

The color is butterscotch.

This is also interesting because it is advertising as well as being Bakelite.

The blade is printed with “BOWLES GRAIN CO. Dealers in Grain & Seed Phone 12. Persia, Iowa”. This dates it in the 30’s to 40’s due to the 2 digit phone # and being Bakelite.

The edge is not smooth, it is barely serrated. I don’t know how sharp it is.
