Bing and the Dixieland Bands

12" Vinyl Album

No obvious marks and plays very crisply throughout. Good clean sleeve with just some light soiling to unlaminated rear (see photos).

An interesting addition to the collection for Bing aficionados. He appears here with some of the leading Dixieland bands in recordings dating between 1941 and 1952 combining Bing's characteristic vocals with the Dixieland styles.

This album has quite an interesting history, starting life in the US in 1951 as a 10" 8 track record on the Decca label it was expanded in 1958 to the 12"/12 track version again on Decca. Both these US releases were mirrored on the Brunswick label for the UK market. In 1962 we saw the reissue of the 1958 release on the new 'Ace of Hearts' Decca budget label. Eventually we get to this issue on the Coral Records which was a budget label of MCA Records who had, in the intervening period, acquired Decca!
