For your consideration is a Holdsmore Hanger.  Holdsmore Hangers were manufactured by Runsend Wood Products of Rochester, New York.  They received a Patent on December 6, 1921 and at that date other Patents were pending.  They were used to maximize storage space in closets, pantries, and other interior storage areas.
The Holdsmore Hanger's main piece of steel attaches to the wall with two nails or screws.  When it is relaxed, the maximum measurement from the wall is approximately 4 1/2 inches.  Lift one of pieces of wood, until it is straight and all five pieces will make a clicking sound and the five pieces of wood can be used to hang items.  The five pieces of wood, have lengths of:  Slightly more than 13 3/4", almost 11 1/2", 8 7/8", approximately 6 1/4" and approximately 3 1/2".
This Holdsmore Hanger is an old item, that was used.  The longest piece of wood is warped.  Some of the original black paint, has worn and/or flaked off.  The remaining paint  is very tight, against the steel.  Parts of the identifying sticker are missing, but the remaining majority is in excellent condition.  The steel hooks have a considerable amount of rust.
