I had experienced issues with my original robot and Meccano sent me a replacement base as a fix. After examining the inside, it was obvious the battery had overheated and died (last picture, not included). I've since found out they did a recall some time after my issue for that exact reason, replacing the charging base for a new model that shuts off after a few hours to prevent the battery from getting too hot. If you intend on using this, keep that in mind. 

This is the ORIGNIAL kit, as from the factory pre-recall. The battery in the other base of the full robot does seem to have some life, as it beeps and seems to want access to the wifi, but given the age of this toy, I would assume the battery needs replacing. Uses the typical toy battery of the time, the 9.6v NIMH battery pack. 

Bottom line, I'm selling this whole kit as-is, disclosing everything I know and can remember about it. The product is discontinued long ago and Windows\Mac\Phone apps seem long gone (perhaps still available on mirror sites?) If you're the type that likes reflashing the firmware to something else more open source, or just collects this kind of toy- this may be the one for you.
