Photograph Notes: One of the five wind turbines (giving a total of 10MW power) at Sancton Hill near Market Weighton, a high tension power line, and in the distance Drax Power Station (rated at 4,000MW) and finally Eggborough Power Station (rated at 2,000 MW). I like the idea of wind power and have no issues with them, but the difference in power output between the two forms of energy is huge. Drax alone produces 7% of the country's electricity. There would need to be at least 3,000 wind turbines of this type to produce the same amount of energy as these two power stations combined..... and the wind to go with them too!
