For sale is this authentic pre-Columbian spindle whorl bead artifact! This bead is relatively plain, made of a light clay. These were commonly used long ago as a piece to a Weaver’s loom. They were often worn as beads after they had been retired. It is made of a light clay, and is simplistic in design. This is a medium sized whorl bead (not large or small). This particular piece was found in Costa Rica in the 1920-50’s. It then found its way into a private US pre columbian collection. From there it was sold to a bead collector/dealer, who owned it for about a decade before selling it to me! It is estimated to be from about 1200 AD (give or take 200 years as a margin of error — with lacking detail/design it is difficult to be very exact). It is guaranteed authentic, and has firm provenance as mentioned. I purchased this in a lot of about 6-10 pieces, and will be splitting them up to sell them (individually so they can be a part of many collections). It would make a great teaching tool, gift, display piece, or addition to any collection! Don’t pass it up!

Be sure to check over the details and look at all of the photos so you will know exactly what you’ll get! Sometimes the photos include a picture of the item next to a ruler so that you can better tell the size of the item. This way we can avoid any accidental sizing issues. My goal is to make you happy!
