PEDOT-PSS is an advanced, electrically conductive polymer.

  • Fully organic. Does not contain any metals.
  • Stable to air. Can be processed in ambient environment.
  • Can form flexible conductive films.
  • Thin films afford transparent and conducting coatings.
  • PEDOT:PSS is widely used as electrode material in flexible electronic devices, displays and  printed electronics.


PEDOT:PSS is the best conducting polymer available to date, that is stable to air and humidity, and can be processed by conventional means. PEDOT-PSS products are also marketed under the brands CleviosTM (registered trade mark of Heraeus) and OrgaconTM (registered trademark of Agfa).


PEDOT-PSS is a blend of two polymers: polymerized thiophene derivative (PEDOT) and polystyrenesulfonic acid (PSS).

 

Important: To achieve full conductivity, a small amount of organic solvent must be added to this solution. The common procedure is to add ~5% DMSO, followed by brief mixing, shortly before application. This process is necessary to all PEDOT:PSS solutions, and is often not mentioned by other sellers.
