I am very Pleased to be able to offer such a rare lovely! A truly beautiful cameo featuring Large Angel with Huge Wings, carrying a Cherub. This antique cameo itself if made of Vulcanite sulfur was Developed by Charles Goodyear (1800–1860) . This material can be molded when warm & cool becomes hard. Vulcanite medallion is set on a horn plaque with cut-out detail work along the edges. This plaque is set on yet another horn plaque that is shaped like a shield with 3 tear dropped shaped points protruding from both the top and the bottom.
This is lovely Cameo is 2 " x 1 3/4" raised 5/8". It has an antique 1840 C clasp with over extended pinl. I have added a removable new altered gold plated Brooch converter to necklace to add antique 1900 Black jet necklace.
