Pictured is a quite uncommon blue & white Flying Birds berry bowl offered for sale. The bowl is stenciled on the interior with advertising in blue "DRINK ARIOSA COFFEE". It measures 2" in height, 4 1/2" in diameter, & dates from 1905 - 1925. The embossing is sharp & crisp. It's in excellent condition with no nicks, damage or repairs.
A brief history of Ariosa Coffee notes its origin in 1864 by the Arbuckles Coffee Co. in Philadelphia, PA. Two brothers, John & Charles Arbuckle, initiated a new concept in the coffee industry by selling roasted coffee in small one pound packages.
