There are many web sites dedicated to Lithops and their cultivation.
A search of Google images will give an idea of how the mature plants will look.
Brief cultivation notes..
Lithops germinate readily from seed. Seed remains viable for several years. Sow in any free draining compost, I use good quality John Innes No. 1 with at least 50% added fine grit or perlite. Stand the pots of compost in cooled boiled water until surface appears damp. Then remove and stand for awhile to drain any excess water. Carefully open seed packet and sprinkle over the surface of the pot. Add a very thin layer of fine grit to inhibit algal growth on the surface. Then seal in a plastic bag and place in a warm, light (not direct sunlight) place such as a heated propagator. Germination should start to occur within a week or two. After 2 or 3 weeks, when germination is complete, remove from the plastic bag and place in a bright well ventilated situation, but protect from direct sunlight for the first few months. Mist frequently with water to prevent the tiny seedlings drying out. After seven or eight months the seedlings can be repotted, reduce watering at this time to prevent root damage. At this stage the little plants will start to develop the colours and patterns of mature plants.
