The newest mic release from British brand Sontronics is the Sontronics SOLO, a handheld dynamic microphone that's developed, designed and made in the UK (in actual fact, just 2 miles down the road from Absolute Music HQ!).
The Sontronics SOLO has a super-tight supercardioid pattern with impressive side rejection, making it a no-brainer for use on stage for vocals, guitar amps or drums. Like most dynamic mics, it will work equally well in the studio.
The SOLO is designed to capture all the detail of your source with loads of presence, crunch, bite and depth but requires no EQ, which is a dream come true to all live sound engineers out there.
During the development and beta-test stage, Sontronics SOLO was tested by various engineers in various venues (Sontronics is renowned for thoroughly beta-testing all its mics) and all agreed that it way outperforms similar dynamic mics and even microphones that cost four or five times the price.
Sontronics SOLO is made from solid aluminium with an anodised finish and a beautifully etched logo, and it feels substantial but not too weighty in the hand. The SOLO is supplied with a mic clip, thread adaptor and zip-up, leather-look, padded pouch, in fully recyclable packaging, also made in the UK.

absolutemusic was set up over ten years ago by a group of passionate audio professionals who wanted to deliver better service and greater savings on music gear than could be found anywhere else.
We’ve since grown into one of the UK’s leading music retailers and we've recently moved into a huge new two-storey superstore boasting three massive guitar display walls and dedicated departments for drums, guitars, DJ, live sound, synths & keyboards, hi-tech and accessories. We also have four guitar booths, two soundproofed drum booths, an in-house Guitar Workshop and a unique monitor-auditioning studio designed by acoustician Andy Munro.
Next door is our café and complex of rehearsal and tuition studios available for hire seven days a week, where we also run regular workshops, instrumental lessons, demo events and recording sessions. Soon to be added is a professional recording studio and control room.
Every member of our 50-strong absolutemusic team is an experienced musician or engineer who can offer you accurate, expert advice on anything from vintage guitars to the latest software. Shipping
We deliver all items, except items worth less than £30, by insured courier.
In most cases we can deliver items within a couple of working days. We will contact you should delivery be delayed. Exceptions may apply to non-mainland destinations, the very north of Scotland and non-UK destinations.
Before sending goods, we will contact you via email to let you know when we will be shipping and provide you with tracking information.
Most items are delivered on an overnight service ( 2-3 days for non-mainland UK and 3-5 days for mainland Europe ). If you are in the UK, but not on the mainland, a delivery surcharge may apply and the service may vary. This depends on item size and destination but for most items to Northern Ireland for instance, this surcharge is £10. For more details, please contact us.
