This is a masterful and finely rendered Antique Old Early California Desert Landscape Oil Painting on Artist Board, by early female California Impressionist Cecile Crabb. She is known for her paintings of the Palm Springs desert landscapes, however there is not much biographical information online about her. Perhaps you know more about the artist or her work? This painting is signed: "Cecile Crabb" in the lower right corner, and additionally titled and signed on the verso: "Desert Canyon in Spring...Painted by Cecile Crabb...Desert Hot Sp. Calif." This work depicts a lovely Lower Palm Canyon landscape scene, with vibrant green desert foliage, lavender hills in the distance, and azure cloud-speckled skies above. This artwork likely dates to the late 1940's - 1950's. Approximately 23 1/4 x 27 1/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 20 x 24 inches. Very good condition for age, with some light scuffing and edge wear to the original period gilded frame (please see photos.) Acquired in Los Angeles, California.
