Life isn’t always the easy path we want it to be. The straight road curves upward. The things that once gave us meaning seem to drag us down. What we wished for doesn’t come true, but still we keep wishing.
Our newest sculpture, Buried Passion, reveals our secret souls in two unique editions. Her Fallen Hopes [limited to 345] and His Endless Dreams [limited to 345] find two people caught in an uphill battle with themselves, weighed down by everything that used to lift them up. As their hills gets steeper and their doubts get stronger, they take slow and heavy steps toward a summit they may never reach, refusing to let go of the things that make them who they are.
17’’ and 19.5’’ in length respectively, these mixed media sculptures shine a light on the struggles we carry with us every day but which few people around us know we have.
Our passions don't have to dissolve within us. Hold onto what you love.
I
All your life
You waited for the winds
To turn in your favor,
Because they said what you loved
Would one day lift you higher,
But no one teaches you how to grieve
The person you never became.
II
You moved on,
But you didn’t.
So when the road curved uphill,
You followed it,
When the wind was a wall,
You charged through it,
No longer caught between seasons
But swept up in their current,
Grasping at storms
That never once howled for you.
III
But here’s what you don’t yet know:
One day you will marvel
At just how far you’ve come.
What you carry
Will weigh more than when you started.
But still, you’ll go on climbing.
I’ll be at the top of my hill, too,
Alone in those same clouds.
