DESCRIPTION

Neil Young - “After The Gold Rush” Reprise Records RS 6383 (Stereo) from 1970. Hard to find Folk / Country / Pop / Rock album from Neil Young with Crazy Horse featuring Danny Whitten, Ralph Molina, Billy Talbot along with Jack Nitzsche, Nils Lofgren, Greg Reeves and Steve Stills. In the Original Gatefold Cover with NO Cutouts, promo markings or Barcode.

There are many different versions of this release. I believe this is a First Edition but I have not been able to verify that so I am providing all of the info I have so you can decide. On the Tan Reprise “Steamboat” labels with no ® next the Reprise logo and with “Stereo” at the bottom. The Rim text reads "Reprise Records, A Division of Warner Bros. Records, Inc. Made In U.S.A.” The Label Matrix numbers are “31,009RE2” and “31,010RE2”. The sleeve credits only Nils Lofgren on piano. Track B6 is written as "Crippled Creek Ferry" on the back cover and "Cripple Creek Ferry" on the label. "When You Dance I Can Really Love" is a bit longer than 3:44. Actual runtime ~4:00. The Runout Vinyl / Matrix markings read (the Artisan Logo resembles a record as a drumhead with two drumsticks, in the shape of an “A"):

CONDITION

The Gatefold Sleeve is in good shape. There is some shelf wear and corner softening/wear. There is a tiny blue ink dot in the upper left corner and a red sharpie stripe across the title and artist on the front. Still very solid with no splits, stains, tears, cutouts, writing, etc. and would rate VG. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition. There are some overall scuffs, marks and hairlines - no actual scratches i.e. something you can feel with a fingernail. VG visually and plays nicely all through with some soft groove noise, light crackles and a few soft tics, nothing that distracts from the music. Might be impoved with a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The Labels show some light spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:

Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.

Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.

I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
