Jeeps are notorious for the frame rusting out where the Belly Pan mounts to the frame. Some are so bad that you need to replace the whole piece of frame. The YJP24-3's are for a much easier repair in the case that only the bottom of the frame has rusted or the fasteners that hold the belly plate on have broken free. These units are 24" long and slide inside the frame once you have removed the rusted area. They are a 1/8" thick, 1-1/2" deep and fit snugly between the frame. We recommend that you remove no more than 3/4 of an inch up the side of your frame. It is highly recommended that you use a certified welder to weld them in, although we found in development that these are much easier to weld than a cap type that fits over the frame. The angle to weld from the bottom is much easier than wedging in from the top and fighting the little space available between the frame and the body. We feel that welding these in is the best way to go, but if that is not an option, these could be bolted into place. Four well placed 3/8" grade 8 bolts on each side would be a good option. You just have to make sure that you have enough rust-free area left on your frame to get solid mounting. Clamping the frame tightly will hold the YJP24-3 in place while drilling. A couple of tips: 1) Picking up 6 new bolts from your local Jeep dealer before you start is highly recommended. ( Anti-seize on the threads is suggested ) 2) Remember to support your transmission when removing the belly pan. 3) The rails are predrilled. Use 1" bolt to locate the nut inside the frame rail. Weld the 6 nuts into place.
Use a 1/2-13 tap to chase the threads as welding may distort the nuts slightly.

5) Align the mounting holes and scribe a line on your frame on each side. This will aid in lining up the
YJP24-3 when you are ready to install them once you cut out the rusted area. Also mark the ends so you know where to stop your cut. Frame pieces extend past the belly pan in each direction, but may be cut down.
It is recommended that the belly pan is bolted to rails and tack the frames in. This will insure that the belly
pan bolts in properly on final assembly. ALSO AVAILABLE FOR TJ's !!!!!!
