Easy to tell the difference.
If it’s "Hot Dipped" galvanized it is superior. It's appearance will be dull grey with a rough texture. On the other hand, a zinc plated product is inferior. It's appearance will be shiny and smooth.
A "hot dipped" galvanized product has the best protection against rust, even though it’s a bit unattractive.

This ratchet bracket is a safer installation, as it can be installed without having to leave the safety of the roof ladder. It can save the installer a considerable amount of time compared to traditional bracketing methods.

The chimney double ratchet bracket mount uses ratchets that wont slip so the strap remains tighter for a more secure installation.
The 13.5" height of the bracket covers a larger brick surface area for greater support.
