New CD , Polish release

Album "Krywan, Krywan" by Skaldowie (SACD Hybrid) released in limited edition, in the "Polish Recordings catalogue selections" series. This is the first edition of this disc in Poland made in SACD (Super Audio Compact Disc) format.
For the first time in Poland, a classic of Polish popular music appears on a SACD. The series features the most important discs from the Polish Recordings catalogue, which have been remastered and released with unprecedented care in SACD format. Choosing this format is a nod to audiophiles.

The reissue of the most important discs in SACD format, due to the availability of Polish Recordings archives in the form of analog mother tapes, is a natural choice allowing albums to get the most perfect approach to the analog original, taking them to an unprecedented level on the Polish music market.
For full compatibility with standard CD players, this SACD series is made as a hybrid and includes an additional layer of CD Audio data read by all CD players. The sampling rate of the DSD data stream used on SACDs is 64 times higher than on an audio CD and is 2.824MHz.

"Krywan, Krywan" is the seventh album of the Scheldd. It is a conglomerate of prog rock, folk music and classical inspirations. This is one of the band's best, most original and most attractive albums.
As the band themselves explained on the album envelope: "Krywan - a mysterious word is simply the name of one of the peaks in the Slovak Tatras. The mountain is very picturesque, so it's no wonder it has become the subject of one of the most beautiful highlander folk songs, a reflective ballad titled 'Covering, Covering'. This song served us as the leitmotif of an elaborate piece with which we wanted to summarize our musical activity so far. Therefore, in improvisations you can find things typical of us, such as highlander or classical motifs, and even quotes from fragments from works by great composers such as Bach, Mussorgski, Borodin or Rossini.
Guessing the titles of these tracks is already a task for our listeners. Oh and one more thing. We recorded this album on the night of 22-23.V.72 between 6pm and 2pm. in the Warsaw National Philharmonic Hall".

You can listen to the album endlessly - guessing and wandering along with sounds to the peaks of your musical imagination. Cover by Waldemar Świerzy.
