It was the period of the heyday of the fashion for acoustic playing... Despite everything, Dżem's plans did not include any unplugged project in April 1993. That's why we offer you to take part in the "Without electricity" concert in Łódź - a concert directly broadcast on television! - surprised some of the musicians. The short May deadline made it impossible to rearrange the songs. However, that's when the idea germinated. Firstly - recording an acoustic album. Secondly - filling it with songs in different versions, sometimes significantly different from those that fans knew by heart. Thirdly, the team had half a year to prepare. He didn't waste that time. He boldly and effectively changed the original shape of most of the compositions recorded on "Akustyczne", sometimes leaving only... the lyrics.

"Time Machine" lost its leading riff, "Mała Aleja Róż" turned into a swinging ballad, "Detox" grew - unexpectedly also for the musicians themselves - into a very long Jam-session. But that's not the end of surprises. The team became not only bold, but also... very hospitable. Hospitable when it comes to inviting the entire - nomen omen - group of accompanying artists, and hospitable when it comes to giving them a lot of freedom. These artists enriched the colors of the recordings, additionally emphasizing the difference between the acoustic counterparts of the electric originals - especially those songs in which the corset was loosened less ("Autsajder", "Golden Peacock").

And one more thing - "Akustyczne" is a record of the last session in Rysiek Riedel's life. The artist is already very sick, tired of life (which can be heard especially in "Jesiony"), but still able to find the strength - physical and mental - even for jokes ("Red Like a Brick").
Fashions, like the one for playing without electricity, pass. Great music, like that on the album "Akustyczne", remains. (Jan Skaradziński)
