Lebret silver flute, vintage french.

From my personal collection, this beautiful Lebret was handmade made in Paris c.1904. Serial 2415

I have played it professionally for two years.

Very rare silver model; mostly Lebret are plated. Silver hallmarks in body and footjoint. Lebret logo on body and lipplate.

Adjustment screws on the right hand mechanism

Silver Lebret do not have the so-called “art nouveau” keywork.

I suspect that the new style promoted by Lebret had a marketing reason. Among many famous flute workshops (Bonneville, Louis Lot, Millereau) probably Lebret tried to offer amateurs a personal and very characterised style.

But silver flutes were made for professionals and didn’t need a so graceful keywork…

Plays easily at 440.
