About Painter:

Lv Ji (1439-1505), with the courtesy name Tingzhen and the courtesy name Leyu, was born in Yin (now Ningbo, Zhejiang). Ming Dynasty courtyard style flower and bird painter. Lv Ji, the first master of Huaniao, was Bian Jingzhao. He also learned from Lin Liang and extensively imitated various schools of painting during the Tang and Song dynasties. His works include meticulous brushwork, heavy color painting, and ink freehand brushwork. The former depicts with exquisite craftsmanship, rich colors, and strict regulations; The latter is bold and bold, casually dyed, concise and unrestrained, full of momentum and dynamism. His mountain and water lineages are Ma Yuan and Xia Gui, who use large axes to cut and paint mountains and rocks with vigor and strength. The characters also follow the Southern Song court style, with concise and rhythmic clothing patterns and lines. I first learned the meticulous brushwork of Bian Jingzhao and was also influenced by Lin Liang's ink painting techniques. Later, I imitated famous Tang and Song dynasties, and thus formed my own unique and contemporary style. Its flower and bird painting style presents two types of features. The first one is meticulous and colorful, with exquisite and rich paintings of phoenixes, cranes, peacocks, mandarin ducks, etc., complemented by trees, slopes, rocks, and the background of flowing springs on beaches, which is both legal and lively. Another type is ink freehand painting, which is bold and bold, concise and unrestrained, similar to Lin Liang's style. He also excels in both character and landscape painting, and follows the painting techniques of Ma Yuan and Xia Gui from the Southern Song Dynasty.
