This item is a 1st Edition of Licence to Kill by John Gardner.

LICENCE TO KILL, published by little known book club publisher Charter, copyright 1989, True First Hardcover Printing (there was a small press hardcover published in limited quantities by Armchair Detective Library a year later in 1990 - but this Charter hardcover book was published a year before in support of the release of the book), white endpapers, red & light tan quarterbound boards with gold gilt lettering on spine. VERY RARE BOOK - WHILE THE ARMCHAIR DETECTIVE LIBRARY edition is fairly easy to find (about $300+ for clean copies), THERE ARE NO COPIES OF THIS TRUE 1ST HARDCOVER EDITION FOR SALE ANYWHERE.

Some slight wear to DJ on top and bottom of spine ( see photos). Some discoloration on flip side of dust jacket (see photo). Book is in excellent shape other than a nameplate sticker on the inside front cover (see photo) from the original owner.
