Rex Allen and Koko The Arizona Cowboy Belt Buckle Vintage 1993 S.M.K.W. Nice used vintage condition. Western Cowboy Movie Star Rex Allen and his horse Koko are on the front of the buckle. Front buckle has Rex Allen and Koko's name near the top and The Arizona Cowboy on the bottom. Rex Allen & Koko are in the center - Rex is wearing hat & western style shirt. There is a horseshoe, spur and musical notes along side of Rex & Koko. Back has Limited Edition 116 of 10,000, Produced By S.M.K.W. & Made under License 1993 Rex Allen. Measures approx. 2 1/2"H x 3 1/2"L. Comes as seen in the pictures. 

Rex Allen Bio:
Rex Allen started out as a singer in vaudeville and sang on numerous radio shows before hooking up with a traveling rodeo show. He signed with Republic Pictures and became a popular singing cowboy and was often paired with sidekick Slim Pickens. He starred in his own western TV series, Frontier Doctor (1956) and in the 1960s was the narrator on many nature documentaries for Walt DisneyRex was the last of the Hollywood singing cowboy stars and was also known for narrating the Walt Disney nature films. His big break came just after World War II when he became a featured performer on radio's The National Barn Dance. He was signed to a contract with Mercury Records and write nearly 300 songs. His recorded hits included Streets of Laredo, and I Won't Need My Six Gun in Heaven. He made his film debut in 1949 The Arizona Cowboy with other films including Under Mexicali Stars (1950 )The Old Overland Trail (1952), Down Laredo Way and The Phantom Stallion (both 1953). He was the top box office star in 1953 -54 and the no 3 all time money maker in that genre behind Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. On television he was the star of Frontier Doctor in 1958 and in 1961 joined fellow Western singer Tex Ritter on Five Star Jubilee. His voice became familiar to millions when he narrated a series of Wlt Disney wildlife films in the 1960's. Later he concentrated on television and radio voices overs for commercials and narrated the 1973 animated film Charlottes Web.. He retired to Wilcox, Arizona where he started the Rex Allen Arizona Cowboy Museum and Cowboy Hall of Fame. He had 3 sons one of whom is country recording artist Rex Allen Jr
