1940s US Army Transport Algonquin Ship NYC WWII Soldier 8mm Movie Film
Estate Sale Find
Approx 2 minutes of footage of a soldier returning home from military leave, with scenes of the US Army Transport Ship the Algonquin. I'm unsure of the specific date, but other films from this estate were pre and post war. Sadly I have not be able to ID the soldier either.
Film played ok for me and does not appear to have any vinegar smell to it, but it is vintage, going on 70+ years old, and inherently is at risk like any old film for issues with condition and integrity.
*Note - film may or may not come on reels, it may be coiled in paper envelope. Varies based on how it was found and length.
