-Description: This is the original artwork for the front cover to PUCK'S QUARTERLY by Louis M. Glackens (1866-1933).  Puck was the first successful humor magazine published in the United States.  It was issued from 1876 though 1918, and featured cartoons (humorous and political), caricatures and satiric takes on current political and social issues.  It was the first periodical to feature illustrated advertising.  This is the front cover of an issue (undated and un-numbered) of Puck's Quarterly Magazine.  The image is of a young lass in a farmyard providing water to some chicks and ducklings when she is confronted by a rooster nearly as large as she is.  Beautifully rendered by Glackens who provided many drawings to Puck (and later worked in animation).  Title is hand lettered.  TAE

Condition: 

-The art is in very good to excellent overall condition.  Edge/corner wear (not affecting art) neatly repaired on reverse.  Otherwise minor to moderate age/handling wear.  Pencil notes to reverse.

-Domestic buyer pays $35.00 for USPS priority mail shipping (includes tracking and insurance).  If the actual cost of shipping is less, I will refund the difference.

-International buyer pays exact cost of USPS priority mail international shipping.  Sorry, but I do not ship to Italy (too many past problems).  Customs forms contain complete and accurate value.  International buyers please wait for an invoice from me before making payment.
