The plot of the historical drama “Dawn of the Great Steppe” describes events unfolding in the period from 1511 to 1521. This is the time of the reign of Khan Kasym - a man who went down in the history of Kazakhstan as a wise, thoughtful and courageous ruler, who actually cared about his state and its people. It was during the reign of this man that Kazakhstani statehood reached its dawn and established control over most of its own territories, and also expanded into Eastern Dasht-i-Kipchak. The Kazakhs became a full-fledged historical ethnic community, which became famous far beyond the borders of their own territories.
