Rare deadstock suit lining fabric from Phillips and Piper of Ipswich. Made in Britain.

I acquired this fabric from a recently closed down manufacture of country and equestrian clothing. This bolt was wrapped in brown paper with the Phillips and Piper Ltd stamp. A quick search on google reveals that the Phillips and Piper factory closed down in 1982 ending 130 years of production. They made high quality clothes including riding wear for men, women and children and employed thousands of local people.

The fabric itself is in excellent condition. A not too shiny, satin lining fabric in a midnight blue shade. It features a motif of a foxes head in a horseshoe with a hunting horn. No fabric composition is mentioned but it feels synthetic and could be polyester or possibly viscose.

Approximate width including selvedge edge = 136cm (53.5")

Each quantity ordered equals 1m of fabric.

Care is taken to produce photographs that closely match the fabric but colour may vary depending device screen settings.

I also have this fabric in brown, dragonfly blue and grey, check out my other listings.
