FAQ: 

What is a Hofzinser Card? 

A Hofzinser Card was created by Hungarian magician, Johann Hofzinser in the 19th century. It looks like a normal card but when you shine a light though it, dreams come true.

What is the difference between this card and a regular card?

Thickness. This card in 2 times thicker than a normal card. This goes unnoticed in performance. 

Can I hand out the gimmick? 

I wouldn’t. It’s thicker and more rigid than a regular card so a spectator may become suspicious. Maybe I would trust it in someones open palm, but not really more than that. You don't want to chance someone damaging it or ruining the trick. 

Can I shuffle the card? 

Overhand, yes! Hindu shuffle, yes! Anything else, no! You don’t want to bend the card. If you bend the card, the card is done. 

How should I force this card?

DO NOT Riffle force or Farro, otherwise your card is done. 

I either use the Hindu Force or Cross Cut Force. You can also overhand shuffle as. To be completely hands off use Digital Force Bag by Nick Einhorn and Craig Squires. 

How much light is needed? 

The more light the better so, I use a flash light.  If I don’t have a flash light I use my iPhone. You can even hold it up to a lamp/light bulb. 

Are any routines included? 

I’ve come up with The Magical Crime Ring routine and Ghost Friend, which should give you an idea of what’s possible. (link below) But really it’s up to you to figure out what best suits your personality.

Anything else I should know?

If you perform this in a room full of bright lights or outside in summer at high noon the reveal may be lackluster. Your light source needs to be able to penetrate the card. 

Can you do custom cards?
