Description

A wonderful silver plated sauce or gravy boat designed by Christian Fjerdingstad (1891-1968), a Danish silversmith and design consultant for Christofle from 1924 to 1939.

The oval shaped bowl and swan neck shaped handle balance beautifully in the hand. The base of the bowl is marked "Christofle France" together with the chess mark with O and C either side for Orfevrerie Christofle.

The pieces sit  in their original box ( the box is a little tatty) , the set appears  to be unused.

Dating to c.1940, a wonderful original example.

The sauce boat measures 8 1/2" x 4" x 2 1/4" tall; the spoon measuring 8 1/4" in length.
