Ukeseki Toshiyuki Tenmoku bowl.
We have carefully selected and purchased several exceptional pieces from his works. This bowl is rather large in his range of works, and is the largest piece we have purchased this time.
At present, various potters in Japan and China are striving to recreate the Southern Song Dynasty oil drop Temmoku tea bowls, but it is almost impossible to intentionally create these ceramics. Under various conditions, gem-like utensils like this product are rarely fired. His Temmoku tea bowls each have a different expression. This time, I was invited to his studio by a friend's introduction and purchased several pieces with a gem-like glaze.
It is a unique piece. He is a stoic potter who only makes Temmoku tea bowls. Especially, this bowl emits a unique and beautiful blue radiance.
