This is a truly excellent, very versatile little shaving brush! It has a short, handsome and elegant heavy solid-chrome handle which aids in working up a lather, plus, it’s also thermal-conductive, so it absorbs the heat from the water and your hands, warming up with use. (If you want to soak it before lathering to warm the handle up right away, that’s perfectly fine and won’t harm the brush one bit).

I loaded it with the excellent 20mm 2-Tone Faux Badger bulb-style knot. The 2-Tone Faux Badger bulb is a great synthetic knot with soft tips but a bit more backbone than a Black & White knot to whip up a shaving lather in a bit quicker amount of time. (To me, it’s the one of the budget knots that performs the most similar to the higher-end 5th Generation German & Japanese synthetic knots). This knot is IMO one of the most versatile of the more affordable synthetic knots, it’s soft enough for shaving cream yet still stiff enough for shaving soap.

It loads soap and whips up a luxurious lather quicker than the softer black & gray, brown, brown & white, gray & white & white synthetic knots, plus it’s bulb shape flings less soap around your bathroom, yet it’s still plenty soft enough for face lathering.

I set the loft at 54mm for a great combo of back, flow-through, softness and splay, making it excel at lathering, all while providing years of reliable service! This little beast definitely punches above its class, give it a try, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with its performance!

This would make an excellent brush for bowl latherers, vegans, beginners, or travelers. This brush will give a best badger brush a serious run for its money, while simultaneously being easier to care for, it’s loaded with a far softer, non-scratchy knot that doesn’t require any break-in time, along with zero badger or boar-hair stink to deal with!

It also comes with a plastic spice jar that makes a top-notch travel case! Once your brush is cleaned off and you have the excess water worked out of the knot, place it in the spice jar, then flip up the little doors so it can finish drying. Once the knot is dry, close the doors to keep it clean, dust-free and protected!
