This great little antique Japanese cloisonné teapot or water dropper dates to the Meiji period c. 1895. It features wonderful elaborate patterns including a spiral composition of 6 reserves inlaid with chrysanthemums in blue, red, white and pink. Both the mouth of the pot and its base have floral or lotus borders and the lid is also features a segmented form with conforming floral decoration. The piece is in great antique condition with just the appropriate wear associated with an item of this age.
