Chinese  Yixing Teapot with Four Tea Bowls .A fine  Chinese Yixing teapot and four tea bowls.The teapot is shaped as a gnarled log, branch handle and spout.  On one side applied prunus blossom and the other pine. The lid has a similar design. The tea bowls with applied prunus blossom and bamboo.The plum blossom symbolises perseverance and hope, as well as beauty and purity.Pine symbolises longevity endurance and long life.The bamboo tree signifies resilience youth and strength.The teapot and each tea bowl with seal marks.Part of handle broken and very neatly repaired . No losses and hardly noticeable.Yixing ware is a type of clay from the region near the city of Yixing, Jiangsu province used in Chinese pottery since the Song dynasty 960- 1279 when Yixing clay was first mined around China's Lake Tai .Teapot height approx 14 cms .Stock number 1610
