1975-1976 vintage Arctic Cat, Glacierider snowmobiling jacket from the two-piece Glacierider snowmobile suit. Arctic Wear combines winter fashion with comfort and unsurpassed quality. The Glacierider jacket has the tough 420 Denier tight weave Nylon outer shell, the same as the EXT suits, and warm high density Dacron® 88 Polyester insulation to keep you toasty warm in sub-zero temps and wind chills. The Glacierider suits were Bordow coated to repel rain, wind, and snow. The men's jackets came in black, green, purple and white and were matched up with black bib top flared snowpants.
All seams are double-stitched and lock-stitched and are serged or taped to stop stretch and drafts. All stress points are reinforced and bar-tacked.
The Glacierider jacket has a full two-way front zipper that zips to the top of the acrylic collar to form a turtle neck, or you can turn it down. There are 2 zippered front slash pockets. The zipper on the right pocket has some issues and wants to open up. The collar and cuffs are an acrylic and nylon and are in good shape. There are 2 inch green inserts on both arms from the collar to the cuffs and they are bordered by white piping, and green panels down the sides under the arms. The green embroidered "Cat Head" on the left chest is in good shape and it is a larger design. The original belt is missing. I am including a homemade adjustable nylon strap belt with a big button quick release buckle. There is some visible residue from something being spilled or splashed on the front bottom that didn't just wipe off. Laundering could cure that. You may find some fine scratches and tiny snags in the nylon, but nothing major. The diamond stitched liner is good. There is a stitched spot at the end of the left sleeve. There are no rips, tears, holes or open seams.
This jacket is in good usable condition with the exception of a few noted flaws. It has been given a sponge bath inside an out and is ready to wear to your favorite vintage snowmobile event or meet.
This is a men's Medium Glacierider jacket but of course it can be worn by the ladies too.
