Original, large-format 1903 antique color lithographed map of Russia, printed more than 120 years ago, during the reign of Tsar Nicholas II.

  • Topography is shown in relief, and the map locates governmental districts, cities, railroads, submarine telegraph lines, and natural features.

  • The coverage area extends from Novaya Zemlya to the Black Sea, including Finland, the Crimea, St. Petersburg, Novgorod, Poland, Astrakhan, Volga River, Bessarabia, the White Sea, Warsaw, Memel, Moscow, Kiev, Vologda, Kherson, Lublin, Grodno, Minsk, Kars, Caspian Sea, and eastern Armenia.

  • The image area measures a generous 50 x 34.3 cm [19¾" x 13½"], and longitude is measured from Greenwich and Washington.

  • On the reverse side there is an extensive place-name index, keyed to locations on the map, with population data for the larger cities.
