A fresh and rare Sundew dinner set in unusually good condition.

Clarice Cliff was one of the best known British ceramic designers of the 20th century, the first British ceramicist to develop Art Deco patterns and shapes for commercial production. Her designs of the late 1920s and the 1930s significantly influenced fashionable tableware. The Sundew designs were produced in 1935 and 1936.

Most items are stamped Clarice Cliff, Newport Pottery Co. England plus some MADE IN ENGLAND and  on the saucers Wilkinson and Honeyglaze. It is usual for items in sets not to be fully marked. In very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or restoration, some crazing, normal for earthenware of this age. On the whole in surprisingly good condition with very few utensil marks. Sets are often sold off one at a time making them very expensive.
