An Antique 3.3" x 3.2" Koran Travel Amulet Box, Likely Moroccan

This small Koran travel box features remarkable engravings that are either Persian or Moroccan in origin, and most likely the later. This box hinges at a side and has the original locking pin to keep the top closed! This antique piece is likely a one-of-a-kind item!

This piece is likely a product of the Ottoman Empire or North Africa. It is likely no younger than the 1950s, and is likely far older. The rings test for silver but the body does not; it is likely an alloy or a plate of unknown composition. The piece is unsigned.

Condition:

This Koran box is in EXCELLENT condition! It has light surface wear and a lovely, aged patina. The patina and some oxidation is present on the inside of the piece. It has not been cleaned or modified in any way for this listing and is being presented as found.
