The 16 inch Regal grate bottom measures 14.5" across the front, 10" across the back and from front to back 9.25" . The sides are angled and measure 7cm (3inch.) and 18cm (7inch.).The grate measures 14.5" across but is classified as 16" because that is the size of fireplace opening it fits into. The Regal grate bottom has 2 legs and then has a lug in the middle of the front end, which sits into the frame of a Regal fireplace.The grate has " 16 Regal " fired into it during production, as can be seen in one of the photographs.The grate also has 9 notches across the back end and 5 notches each down each side. Please check the measurement of the fireplace opening to confirm wether the grate fits. These grate bottoms have been stored in a damp environment and being cast iron have a slight rust veneer on their surface, which will soon disappear in use.
