This lovely drawing depicts an Italian shepherd surrounded by his flock of sheep, he is playfully tickling the ear of his love with a piece of straw creating a charming rustic scene. The piece is signed by the artist H Stock of which I can find very little about, there is a H Stock on the artnet website and this work is an Italian coastal scene with boats and figures. The drawing is circa early 19th century. 

The drawing is mounted in a contemporary hand painted mount this has some damage, the drawing has age related yellowing and some very light foxing.Mounted size31.5cms by 33cms Image window size 19.5cm 20cms
