Title:     Personalities in the News

Date:   circa 1950

Description:  A booklet to tie-in to a CFRB 1010 radio show which was hosted by Gordon Sinclair from the early 1940's until the time of his death in the 1980s.  Sinclair wrote and read on the radio brief biographical stories of a wide range of notable people.  This issue includes one page stories about: Mr. Justice Rand, George Corsan, Marlene Stewart, John T. Williamson, Sergeant of Detectives Edmund Tong, Dr. Maurice Zeidman, Charlotte Whitton, Jules Timmins, Jean Mark Beliveau, Archbishop R.J. Renison, the Honourable C.D. Howe, and Claire Wallace.  I have dated it as circa 1950 because that Sinclair states Jean Beliveau was 20 years old at the time.  The story about Beliveau discusses his reluctance to play in the NHL.  This booklet has been signed by Gordon Sinclair in ink on the front cover.  It has an advertisement for One A Day multiple vitamins made by Miles Laboratories of Toronto.

Condition:  Fairly good condition overall.  This centre-stapled booklet has damage to the top fore-edge and has some soil to the covers overall.  Bottom rear fore-corner has a soft crease.  The inside pages are clean with light toning and a little evidence of being turned.
