This brick is in excellent condition for it’s age and considering it has raised letters and they are all intact. It was made by the Cleveland Vitrified Brick Co. in Cleveland, Oklahoma. The company started on... 12 July 1905... in Cleveland, Oklahoma then built another plant in Oklahoma City... 22 Dec. 1905...The town of Cleveland, Oklahoma was named in honor of then President Grover Cleveland. Charles Ross Anthony, was the founder of the Oklahoma based C.R. Anthony Stores, started his retail career with the J.P. Martin Co. in Cleveland & later established one of his own stores in Cleveland. On May 27 1904 in Cleveland, Oklahoma Territory the 1st Oklahoma oil well found oil. Once again a chance to own a piece of Oklahoma History!
