This is a vibrant and colorful RARE Vintage Old Modernist San Francisco Cityscape Painting, Watercolor on Paper, by the Mid-Century Modernist cityscape painter and beloved San Francisco artist, Bob Arnold. The artist's studio was on Haight Street, and one of his bold cityscape paintings graced the cover of the San Francisco Business Journal in 1966, however there is very little biographical information available on this talented Regionalist painter. Perhaps you know more about him or his work? This painting depicts a vivid and expressive street scene of two old San Francisco houses and their ornate facades. Vine like renderings of elaborate wrought iron scaffolding are visible at the top of the image, while Victorian style porches, oval windows and quirky architectural nuances are visible in the foreground. Signed and dated: "Bob Arnold 1965" in the lower right corner. Good condition for age, with moderate scuffing, edge wear, and paint loss to the original period vintage wood frame (please see photos.) Additionally, there are some faint speckles of dust and loose dirt underneath the glass. Arnold's original artworks very seldomly come up for sale, and this is by far his largest and finest piece to ever become available on the market in decades. Due to the large size of this item, S&H costs will be unavoidably high. However, Free Local Pickup from Los Angeles, California is also an option. Acquired from an old collection in Pasadena, California. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer. Please check out my other listings for more wonderful and unique artworks!

"Bob Arnold was a San Francisco artist and friend of my parents. They loved his work and hung many of his paintings in our house. Since I can remember, I studied his large abstract style, bold use of heavy impasto paint, bright colors and thought - fantastic!! I would like to be an artist like him someday."
