Antique Chinese Soapstone Blank Chop Stamp Figural Dragon Orb Serpent
How perfect is this piece for 2024? the year of the Dragon! Chinese carved soapstone Chop stamp, which is blank on the bottom. The top is a figural carving of a dragon and serpent fighting over the orb (pearl). The Chinese myth is that the dragon chases the pearl in pursuit of wisdom. The sides have hand etched landscapes and Chinese motifs.
Measures 4" tall X 2" X 2" and weighs a substantial 1 lb. 2.3 ounces. In very good antique condition, some wear and marks in the soapstone due to use and age. Enlarge photos for detail.
