I have a very large collection of books spanning many topics.  A massive gathering of Philip K Dick titles and editions, as well as fine press, signed limited editions, modern firsts, radical movement and conceptual art items.  I encourage you to browse my store and categories for a wide range of unique, quality offerings.

Condition:  SEE IMAGES.  This vintage pulp is in solid GOOD.  NO markings.  There is mild toning to the pages, with the photos making it look more extreme than it actually is.  There is NO brittleness, and pages are easily and comfortably flippable.  Well over 50 years old, this issue is not pristine or flawless.  Light edge wear.  Front panel creasing at reading fold, but binding remains tight and boxed, with no detachments.  The covers have soft corners/tips, and show minor creasing, but still overall a nice, presentable copy.  Preserved in an acid-free archival bag.  Please feel free to ask any questions or request additional pictures.

Fun Fact 1 Cordwainer Smith was a pseudonym for American author Paul Myron Anthony Linebarger.  He wrote his science fiction under the Cordwainer name, which remained unknown until his death.  Linebarger was an officer in the US Army, an East Asia scholar, and specialist in psychological warfare.

Fun Fact 2Clifford D. Simak was first published in 1931, although he really gained momentum throughout the Golden Age of Science Fiction.  Awarded Grand Master status, as well as winning several other awards, Simak left behind a 50 year legacy of writing and respect among his peers.

Fun Fact 3 Gordon R. Dickson is a Science-Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame inductee as well as winner of the Hugo and Nebula Awards multiple times.  His writing career spanned 50+ years, including the classic series The Childe Cycle/Dorsai.  It is speculated that George Lucas drew inspiration for the light saber in Star Wars from the Gordon R. Dickson story Wolfing, published in 1969 (Wiki).

Fun Fact 4Brian Aldiss.  Beginning in the early Fifties, Brian Aldiss wrote stories and edited science fiction anthologies for over 50 years.  Most known for his Helliconia Trilogy, he was heavily influenced by H. G. Wells, and was a member of the H. G. Wells Society.  He was member of other groups as well as Grand Master and winner of multiple awards.

Works by:

Galaxy Science Fiction was a magazine digest that ran from 1950 until 1980.  In the final year, only 1 issue was published.  It was revived again for a brief 8 issues in 1994-95.  Galaxy was a French-Italian publishers attempt at getting a foothold in the American market.  Originally, it focused largely on stories around social issues as opposed to technology.  Galaxy, nearly from inception and under the editorship of Horace Gold followed by Frederik Pohl, became one of the leading science fiction magazines, greatly influencing and expanding the genre.  It boasted Horace Gold, Frederik Pohl, Willy Ley, Theodore Sturgeon, Lester del Rey, Judy Lynn and others on the editorial and department leadership.  It was only with the 1969 resignation of Frederik Pohl from editorship that prominence began to wane until it was ultimately cancelled in 1980.  Publishing the works of visionary greats such as Ray Bradbury, Harlan Ellison, Robert Silverberg, Jack Vance, Frank Herbert, Robert Henlein, Ursula K. Le Guin, Willy Ley, Larry Niven and many other greats, Galaxy greatly influenced the field of science fiction.

I will happily answer any further questions.

Making offers: I certainly can appreciate wanting a better deal, and I've made offers myself on my own purchases.  To be up front, if and when you make an offer, I will automatically reject crazy low "give it away" offers.  Best not to waste our time.  With a more reasonable offer, I will review current pricing for other comparable items out there and either accept, counter or decline submitted offer.  If in that review, I find my pricing is already LOW and outdated, I may then increase the price to bring more in line with other offerings.  I spend a lot of time sourcing the best offerings, preparing the listings with images and clear descriptions, and price fairly in MOST cases.

I remain grateful to all who consider my offerings, and I look forward to serving your needs respectfully and with success.
