Imagine the little boy who gazed upon this doll set and dreamed of growing up a Samurai!

Lovingly preserved for generations, this Musha Ningyu Doll set is a rare find.

Late Edo / Early Meiji period c 1860s - 1880s. (Noted age by textile materials and crystal eyes in horse and warriors. Also the faces are very dramatized and indicate the popularity of Kabuki during the Late Edo period. And the skirt on the horse tend to be bright red in later Meiji pieces.

The old doll sets are very brittle and tend not to survive long. However this doll set has its original box for protection over time. But note small cracks or breakers on the dolls but very minimal for this age.

Box dimensions 13 1/2” x 15” x 7”
