Fender USA Jazz Bass '66 Dot w/Binding Sunburst/R

Since its release in 1960, the ``Jazz Bass'' has continued to influence the music scene as a mainstay of Fender's basses, along with the Precision Bass. Many original variation models and reissue models, as well as inspired models by other companies, have been made, and it has established itself as a standard electric bass model.

This time in stock is paddle peg/cell binding & dot position specification. In late 1965, cell binding was adopted on the neck side of jazz basses. Around the same time, until around the late 1960s, the oval-shaped tuner knob, commonly known as a paddle peg, was adopted. The position mark changed from the previous dot type to the block type from late 1966. In other words, this paddle peg/bound dot specification was actually only produced for about six months, and is known to be a very rare item among vintage fans.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.9kg. The body material is alder. It is colored with a beautiful 3-tone sunburst color unique to this period using yellow as the base. Weather check, peeling paint from the belt buckle on the back, peeling paint near the elbow contour, large and small dents, and other signs of use, and parts are dull, making it appear to be in good condition as if it had been used quite a bit. Metal covers are out of stock.

【neck】
The neck is maple and the fingerboard is rosewood. The cell binding and dot position mark are the most important features of this model. There are weather checks on the surface of the head, small dents and signs of use around the head and back of the neck, and fading of the decal logo. The tuner is a paddle type, and each gear set screw has been replaced, and although there are slight variations in the tightness of the winding, it functions well. The frets/nuts have been replaced at our store, and the playability is very good. Head thickness 16.2mm. Nut width 38.5mm. Although it has a narrow nut unique to jazz basses, it has a relatively firm neck shape. The pearloid dot on the 19th fret position mark has been replaced.

[Electrical system]
The controls are the familiar [neck (front) volume/bridge (rear) volume/master tone]. Although there are traces of soldering, the control parts including the pickup are in the original condition. Great response to picking and a thick high-mid tone with a wide range are typical of vintage basses.
