Up for sale is this vintage Seymour Duncan JAM Humbucker Bridge pickup. This pickup has regular spacing or standard pole piece spacing. That is because the pickup in a Focus 1000 guitar is a bridge pickup only guitar and the bridge pickup is angled to help align the pickups pole pieces to the wider string spacing of a Floyd Rose Tremolo equipped guitar like Eddie Van Halen did. This pickup was pulled from a 1986-87 Kramer Focus 1000 guitar.

This is a very early Seymour Duncan JAM pickup. These were made by Seymour Duncan specifically for the Kramer Focus Thousand Series Guitar line as part of Seymour Duncan’s contract with Kramer Guitars in the 80’s. I was able to find this information printed in a Kramer Brochure.

I put a picture of the Kramer brochure that shows this information. I also posted a close up of the Focus 1000 but it’s not as clear as the up close of the Focus 6000 so I posted that pic as well. (BROCHURE IS NOT INCLUDED BUT IS FOR REFERENCE OF PICKUPS ONLY)

However there are no markings on this pickup anywhere that I can see that would indicate who made it. Though the telltale sign this is a early Seymour Duncan pickup is the bobbin holder marks on the face of the bridge humbucker pickup. The two circle holes and the third hole is a circle inside of a square which is the identifying mark of the Gibson pickup winding machine that Seymour Duncan purchased from Gibson back in the day and is still used to this day to wind Seymour Duncan pickups. The wire color chart and wiring for this pickup is the exact same as any other Seymour Duncan Pickup.

The bridge Pickup reads 9.62k ohm on my meter and the lead wire is just over 10 inches long. Pickup can be mounted to pickup ring or pick guard or can be drilled out for direct body mounting if you so desire.
