Al Capone Gang Member SAM COSTELLO Personally Owned & Worn Tie and Handkerchief

From the family property of Sam R. Costello, listed for sale is a beautiful 1930s silk tie and a plaid cotton handkerchief originally belonging to Sam Costello.

Sam R. Costello was a close associate of Al Capone and can be seen standing far right in the infamous “Lawn Photo” depicting many notable members of the Chicago Outfit. The lawn photo shown in this listing is for reference only. Costello's untimely death took place on February 10th, 1938, at the behest of his partner, Chicago Heights boss Jim Emery, due to a dispute over territory. At the time of his death, Costello was wearing a diamond-studded belt buckle that was given to him by Al Capone, a gift Capone gave to his closest friends and associates.

A letter of provenance is included with these items.
