Two scarce MORCO branded marbled Bakelite conical lamp shades both Model B.S.6 one is a pastel green colour way, the other a pastel pink. Both are in a marbled effect.

Around the lamp holder entry hole is embossed “MORCO” B.S.6 REGISTERED TRADE MARK.

I can find very little about the history of Morco lighting products, it is the same company that still makes gas boilers and back in the 1940’s to 1970’s made a large quantity of items including lights for caravans and domestic settings alike.

I emailed them twice for data , but nobody could be bothered to grace me with a reply.

CONDITION: for 70 years, good. Not perfect, but they are NOT CRACKED OR CHIPPED, there are some small grimy marks and a few spots of discolouration but nothing serious.

They accept a standard UK 1” diameter lamp holder, so will fit on a B.C./B22 or an E14/SES lamp holder, they WILL NOT fit a large screw E27 size as they are 40mm diameter.

I can not find another one anywhere, most will have decayed due to the use of 100w bulbs which destroy shades with heat.

Extremely rare? Probably. Lovely items for a post war set dressing film shoot.

Size of both are : height 6”/15.5cm, diameter 5.5”/14cm, hole diameter for lamp holder is 1”/28mm.
